following are the two relief efforts the WMA REAL Concert will address:
Abroad:
The Tygerberg Children’s Hospital (TCH) of South Africa
Nobel Peace Prize laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu and patron of the TCH
has referred to this hospital as a place where children suffering from
abuse, AIDS, and poverty can be helped. The funds from the WMA REAL Concert
will go directly to Tygerberg and provide immediate relief where it is

The Katrina Musician’s Relief Fund sponsored by Harry Connick, Jr.
This fund, which began to provide support to musicians and their families
within days of the catastrophe, will continue to apply all contributions
to the following specific efforts:
- Relocating displaced musicians and their families
- Providing funds for food, clothing, and other assistance for these
musicians and their families
- Providing work and performance opportunities for musicians
- Partnering with other organizations in an effort to support and maximize
ongoing relief efforts
The Katrina Musician’s Relief Fund is being administered through
Music Education Initiatives, Inc. (MEI) a 501 (c) (3) corporation that
has previously sponsored the Marsalis Jams program in colleges, universities
