A Tribute to Frank B. Greene started in January 2007 as a Heritage Film that would cover the entire Greene family history as told by Frank Greene, who at 96 was the last surviving brother of a house of ten other siblings. Frank passed away in late March 2007 with seven hours of interviews complete.
With the interviews, tens of hours of home movies, and hundreds of photos already loaded onto the computer for the post-production editing, the project took a different approach, and in the course of the three days prior to Frank's funeral service, the Essence Film was born. Its screening at the service celebrated his life, legacy, and love of family.
